FRESCO, Barbara Grace

February 21, 1924 - March 15, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara in her 97th year. She is predeceased by parents, Elizabeth McDougall and William Sinclair, siblings: William Sinclair, Douglas Sinclair, Allan Sinclair, Jean Anderson (Sinclair), Betty Pennington (Sinclair), first husband Neil McColl and daughter Mary Johnson (McColl). Barbara is survived by sisters Joan Niven (Sinclair), Pat MacNab (Sinclair), her many nieces and nephews, loving son John McColl, daughter in-law Cori Allatt-McColl, adoring grandchildren Marilou Perreault and Emily Grace Allatt-McColl and great- grandchildren Madison and Maya. Barbara is fondly remembered by cherished friends Ian and Marylou Mccrimmon. Barbara was born in Whitby, Ontario and spent most of her career as an Accountant in Toronto, Burlington and London (ON). For a brief period of time Barbara lived in Montego Bay, Jamaica where she developed her life-long adoration for the warm sun and passion for traveling. Once retired she continued to travel to such places as Scotland, Portugal, Turkey and many more. Once settling in Fergus, Ontario, connecting her back to her Scottish roots, Barbara became an active member of her community by volunteering for many years at the Victoria Park Seniors Centre. Barbara was involved in the knitting and craft group at the Seniors Centre and won the Volunteer of the Year award in 2002 for her many dedicated years of service to the community. Barbara was a strong, independent, loving woman who will be deeply missed by all who encountered her. She will be remembered for her dedication to her Scottish heritage, her cozy knitted clothing, her amazing stories from throughout her life, being a devout sun worshipper and endless love for her adoring family. We love you Mom, Sister, Grandma and Great-Grandma. The family has decided not to have a visitation or service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in lieu of flowers. As a family, we would like to thank and give appreciation to Karen Bolger, and all the wonderful staff at Morriston Park Nursing Home for their compassionate and loving care given to Barbara. She cherished each and every one of you, as she did everyone she met.
