Mom is survived by her husband, our Dad, Edward “Ted” Farrelly. Mom’s legacy will live on through her devoted 3 children, – Linda Scott (Jeff), Cheryl Redman (Bill), Kevin Farrelly (Jacki Becker), 8 Grandchildren – Brock (Leigh-Anne Clocherty), Brittney, Ryley (Jennifer Mateyk), Lauryn (Jean-Marc Racheter), Lynsey, Jesse (Hyejee Jung), Tanner, Nicole (Jaydon Hunt)and 4 Great Grandchildren – Lochlan, Mack, Hennie, and Nora. Mom is predeceased by her brother Wayne McBride and her parents Garfield & Velma (Collier) McBride, and parent in-laws Elwood & Mary (Lockhart) Farrelly. Mom was born September 7th, 1934 in Grand Valley, Ont. One of her greatest accomplishments was becoming an RN. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing May 13, 1956. She loved her profession beyond words, working at Groves hospital followed by the “new” Terrace (Wellington Terrace) in 1972. Jean was a well-respected RN, many professionals reiterating to us her instinct, compassion and in-charge abilities. She was a member of the Alma UCW, Alma Woman’s Institute and was constantly caring for her entire family, friends and neighbours. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Wellington Terrace which was home to Mom for almost 11 years, and to Lapointe-Fisher Nursing Home previously. Due to COVID-19 concerns a private funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday. A recording will be available following the funeral service.
