DRUMM, Eunice Carmel Rita Rita (nee Benninger)

May 22, 1923 - November 18, 2022

It is with profound sadness that the family of Eunice Drumm announce her peaceful passing at the Guelph home of her daughter, Mary, on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the age of 99. Loving mother of Terry Wilson (Jerry), Michael, Larry (Margaret), Dan (Wanda), Anna Marie (Annie) Paul (Ted), Mary Rider (Gord) and Rodger (Carol). Born in Walkerton on May 22, 1923 to Frederick and Catherine Benninger, she was the sixth of eight children. She is predeceased by brothers Alfred (Adele) and Joseph (Mary) and sisters Catherine (Walter) Miller, Sister Helen ND, Joan (Ross) McLean, Alberta (John) Campagne and Anita (Walter “Stub”) George. Also predeceased by Clarence (Sonny) Drumm, sister-in-law Marie  (George) Schmidt, and brother-in-law, Norman (Mary Lou). She is dearly remembered by sister-in-law, Doris (Dolly) (Sam) Winter. Eunice will be affectionately remembered by 17 grandchildren (Ben Rider 2022), 22 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She also remains in the hearts of numerous nieces and nephews. Above all else Eunice’s faith and her family were her reason for being. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and her kindness, loyalty, generosity and sense of humour were her trademarks. She loved music, ice skating, playing tennis and her Blue Jays. Eunice’s family extends heartfelt thanks to our sisters Mary and Anna Marie, Drs. Jafferjee and Spadafora, Catrina and the palliative care nurses from Bayshore and the many dedicated PSWs from CBI and Closing the Gap who made it possible for Mom to remain at home.  The family received relatives and friends on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd from 4-7pm at the Graham Giddy Funeral Home in Elora. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Nov. 24th at 11:00am in St. Mary Immaculate Church, Elora. Private interment will take place at a later date in Walkerton. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Groves Memorial Hospital or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be gratefully appreciated.
