DOLMER, Brian Gordon

April 24, 1945 - April 24, 2023

Brian Gordon Dolmer, 78, of Puslinch, passed away on April 24th, 2023 at Groves Community Hospital in Fergus. 39 years ago, Brian was joined to navigate life with his wife, Cheryl Bast, she was the love of his life and he the light of hers. Cheryl is left to mourn but has the precious memories they shared which no one can ever take away. Forever grateful to our daughter-in-law, Shelly Lockhart and her mother, Lynn, for their continuous support.  Xander, Rhys and Marleigh will never know the joy they provided Grampa with their calls and visits whenever the opportunity allowed. Thankful for daughter and son in law, Susan and Steve Shackell, your help during these trying times will never be forgotten. We are appreciative of Brian’s siblings, Larry (Sandy) Dolmer of Florida, providing continuous support, Jude Dolmer and Brenda (Larry) Ayres, of Fergus, who have been with us from the beginning, offering encouragement and assistance whenever needed. Grateful for our many friends and neighbours, your support and care packages were an enormous comfort and benefit. Brian was predeceased by his parents Gordon & Elsie Dolmer, his beloved son Brian Gordon and his daughter Cathy Ouderkirk and her 3 children. He is also survived by daughter Sharon (Steve) Adshade, 6 other grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Brian’s sense of humour will always be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews as well. A special thank you to Brian’s care providers, Dr. A Dicu and her team at Grand River Hospital Cancer Clinic, the oncology clinic at the Fergus Hospital, (Sandra, Karen and Ann) and Dr. A. Kamphius for their compassion and care. A special thanks to Stepping Stones Palliative Concierge Services who responded with little notice to provide home care and support to Brian and Cheryl. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son. A private celebration will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Brian may be made to Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Centre, Puslinch, Grand River Hospital Cancer Clinic, or Groves Community Hospital Oncology Department.
