DALE, Brenda (McDonald)

Passed away suddenly at the Guelph General Hospital in her 69th year from Ischemic Colitis, peacefully, with her family by her side. Brenda is survived by her devoted husband Rick Dale, in their 45th year of marriage. Loving mother of Steve and Shawn (Carolina) and “Nana” to grandsons Mason, Carter and Nicholas. Daughter of the late Joe (1992) and Joan (1991) McDonald. Daughter in law of the late Fred (2004) and Nora (2006) Dale, Beeton Ont. Sister to Colin (Leslie), Tony (Lilliana), Carol (Ray), the late Dave (Anne), Peter (Sharon), Sheila (Doug) and Paul (Kim). Many nieces and nephews in the Dale and McDonald families. Brenda was born June 4, 1953 in Reading England and immigrated to Canada with her family on August 24, 1974. She married Rick Dale August 20, 1977. Brenda was a kind, generous and compassionate person and loved helping older people. She enjoyed many summers at Emerald Lake (Puslinch), family gatherings, reading books and doing word puzzles. She loved baking and cooking and giving lots of homemade goodies to family and friends for Christmas. She always took the time to connect over the phone with friends and family in Canada and England. She also enjoyed spending time with her 3 grandsons at home and at Emerald Lake. Brenda was treated for a pituitary tumor in 1974 and endured many significant health issues over the years. A special thank you to Dr. David Hood, Dr. Cameron Purdon, Jeannine Oliver and staff at Kortright Pharmacy Guelph for their ongoing dedication and care of Brenda throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and all who knew her. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, visitation will take place on Thursday, December 30th, 1:00 – 2:00pm at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00pm. Due to COVID restrictions, guests must RSVP their attendance using the link below her obituary at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com for both the visitation and/or the Funeral Service. No proof of vaccination is required but masks are mandatory and social distancing will be in place.
