Nordic pole walking starts Sept. 12

Nordic Pole Walking at 55 Plus Club starts Sept. 12.

Nordic walking is a low-impact exercise that can be done by nearly anyone, while working out 90% of your muscles and burning up to 46% more calories than just walking alone?

There are over 400 studies detailing the benefits of Nordic Pole Walking and its many benefits, including helping to reduce high cholesterol, lowering high blood pressure and reducing the risks associated with diabetes, heart disease, stroke and osteoarthritis.

To learn more about the Nordic Walking program, there is a free information presentation on Sept. 10, at the Erin Legion at 10am (downstairs where the Zoomers program meets).  The first walking program will start Sept. 12, at the Seniors Centre in Centre 2000 in Erin from 9am to 11am and there is no cost to participate.

Nordic walking is a great way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful trails that are in our community while providing participants with a chance to meet new people and learn something new.

The session will be lead by instructor Liz Davies and walking poles can be borrowed for those wanting to participate. To register for this program, contact Sherri at 519-833-0087 or sherri.p@ew-cs.com .
