No relief in Puslinch for open air burning violation

It doesn’t look like a Puslinch man will be getting relief from an open air burning violation invoice.

Puslinch CAO Karen Landry noted that on June 3, councillors heard a delegation from James Rattray who asked for relief from paying fees associated with open air burning.

His request was in regard to the cost of having the fire department attend his property for an open air burning violation.

Rattray also stated it was not his intention to pay the invoice.

The fire department had gone to the Rattray property based upon a complaint and told him to let the fire die out.

The department was called back later at which time it appeared that more material had been placed on the fire.

Puslinch fire chief Steve Goode also spoke to council regarding the incident. Council received Rattray as a delegation and no further action was taken.
