Mustangs Novice “˜B”™ win championship

The Grand River Mustangs Novice ‘B’ team travelled to Alliston on the weekend of Feb. 27 to participate in the Fifth Annual March Madness in the Valley girls hockey tournament.

The team went 3-0 in the round robin with wins against North Bay Ice Bolts (2-1), Whitby Wolves (3-1) and Burlington Barracudas (6-0).

The girls met up with the Vaughan Flames in the semifinals and came out with a 5-1 win that took them to the finals.

In the finals the girls faced the Whitby Wolves and came out March Madness champions with a 2-0 victory.

This is the third championship win for the Novice ‘B’ girls this season.

Congratulations to all the girls and the coaching staff on another championship, said team officials.

Next up for the team is provincials.
