Mount Forest Lions donate $3,100 to WES for Youth Online

MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Lions Club has donated $3,132 to Wellness and Emotional Support (WES) for Youth Online, a free virtual counselling service for Ontario youth aged 13 to 24. The confidential and private service is open to anyone within those age restrictions who are looking for mental health support.

“The donation that was made today from the food gift card raffle will help provide over 19 hours of virtual counselling,” said WES for Youth Online development director Emma Martin.

The Lions Club held a food gift card raffle on April 30, with the proceeds to mental health in the community. WES for Youth Online was one of the organizations in Mount Forest they chose to donate to.

“The Mount Forest Lions are aware of the impact that the pandemic has had on mental health in the community, so it’s very important for us to be able to contribute this to WES for Youth so they can continue their good work on the mental health of youth in the community,” said Mount Forest Lions Club treasurer Susan Wells.
