Most churches doing something different for Christmas services

WELLINGTON COUNTY – For those wondering how to do church this Christmas, it’s best to check with your church, because they are all handling things differently this year.

Some are still holding in-person services but capacity is vastly restricted now that the region has moved to red (control) in the provincial COVID-19 tracking system.

Some have returned to online services only. Some are emailing inspiring sermons to their congregation.

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fergus, for example, is holding three masses on Christmas Eve and two on Christmas Day. But congregants are required to pre-register.

Palmerston Evangelical Mission Church is having two outdoor services on Christmas Eve – one at 6pm and the other at 7:30pm

Preregistration is required to attend as well.

Erin United and Ballinafad United churches are holding Zoom services. Those without internet can participate by phone.
