Moorefield teen died in serious weekend crash

WEST PERTH – A Moorefield teen has died following a serious crash here on Saturday involving a car and snowplow.

Emergency crews responded to the collision at the intersection of Perth Road 164 (Highway 23) and Line 32, just south of Mitchell, on Dec. 19 at about 8:30pm.

Perth County OPP officials say a car travelling west on Line 32 and a snowplow travelling north on Road 164 collided at the intersection, which is controlled by stop signs in the east and west directions.

The driver of the car, Kylie McBeth, 19, of Moorefield, was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A passenger of the car was also transported to local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the snowplow was not injured.
