Maryborough Public School teacher leads students through Taekwondo tests

Taekwondo tests – Maryborough Public School teacher Andrew Rogers has run a Taekwondo club for interested students for the past school year. The final testing took place June 2 at Phoenix Performance Center in Mount Forest with Master Reeves. The students worked diligently on learning their foundation movements, kicks, blocks and patterns that are required for this belt testing level. There were 16 students tested. They had to pass a conditioning test and break a board at the end of the testing. “It was incredible seeing the students develop perseverance, physical stamina, display drive and endurance. The students appreciate Mr. Rogers volunteering his time and talents as a black belt instructor for them to have this experience,” school officials note. The belt ceremony will take place soon and students will find out if they have earned their yellow belt.
