Mapleton company awarded tender by Wellington County

GUELPH – A tender for replacement of windows, siding and doors at Wellington County Housing Services buildings in Guelph has been awarded to a Mapleton firm.

At the April 30 meeting, held via teleconference, county council confirmed the finance committee decision to award the job to Mapleton Flooring and Windows of Drayton. The company’s bid of $573,640 was the lowest of two received. The other bid, from Apply Contracting Ltd. of Baden came in at $861,677.

The work involves replacement of the existing windows, siding and doors at Wellington County Housing Services buildings located at 4 Applewood Crescent/Sunset Court and some family units at Mohawk and Delaware in Guelph.

The bid amount includes a $20,000 contingency for testing and remediation as required.

Consulting fees for the project are approximately $25,000.
