Mail delivery worker ejected, pinned under vehicle

WOOLWICH – A Guelph mail delivery worker was airlifted to a local hospital after he was pinned under his vehicle last week.

Emergency crews responded at about 12pm on Jan. 2 to a single vehicle rollover on Middlebrook Road near Weisenberg Road in Woolwich Township, just southwest of the Centre Wellington boundary.

Wellington County OPP officials say the driver of a northbound mail delivery vehicle lost control on the “ice-covered” road.

The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled over, ejecting the male driver and partially trapping him under the vehicle.

The 37-year-old from Guelph was transported by ORNGE Air Ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
