ARTHUR – The Arthur Cenotaph has stood at the corner of George and Frederick streets in Arthur since 1923, thanks to the hard work of a group of locals known as the Women Memorial Workers.

WATERLOO – Mount Forest teen Brodie Oliver is thanking his grandmother for the inspiration after he was part of a team that won a baking competition at Conestoga College that comes with a prize of free tuition.

KENILWORTH – Wellington North council has agreed to partner with the Arthur Curling Club to apply for provincial funding to help the club replace its floor.

ARTHUR – A large group of worshippers was in attendance last Sunday as St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church celebrated its 150th birthday.

MOUNT FOREST – At 11 years old, Ava Albrechtas has ribbons, medals and trophies adorning nearly every surface of her bedroom, but her biggest competition is yet to come. She has been selected to represent Canada in the Dance World Cup next year in Burgos, Spain.

ARTHUR – Dr. Samuel Park was a charter member of the Arthur Lions Club, a Jewish immigrant from Russia, one of just a handful of doctors in Arthur’s community in the late 1930s, and a lieutenant in the Second World War.

ARTHUR – At its recent meeting in Arthur on Sept. 16, 100 Women Who Care Rural Wellington heard presentations by members on three local charities.

ARTHUR – The Arthur Chamber of Commerce hosted its 2024 Community Awards ceremony at the Arthur Community Centre on Oct. 26.

KENILWORTH – November is officially Arthur Lions Club Month in Wellington North.
