Local group wins at provincial festival

The Guelph Youth Music Centre’s youth symphony was awarded first place at the Guelph Kiwanis Festival and then went on to win at the 2009 Ontario Music Festival Association provincial finals. The group’s premiere season focused mainly on string repertoire.

The Lillian Evenchick orchestral string scholarship of $500 is a presented annually to a current string player in the GYMC youth symphony upon the recommendation of the string adjudicator.

The Guelph Youth Music Centre was thrilled that cellist Noah Schuster was selected as this years’ scholarship recipient.
