Local dancers perform and compete at Fergus Scottish Festival

Highland dancers – Last weekend dancers from the Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dance had a busy weekend at the Fergus Scottish Festival, performing in the Friday night Tattoo and competing in the two-day competition. They had eight girls compete over the two-day competition and had an excellent dancing performance.

On Aug. 13, in the beginner category Brooke Bailey got 4th in the sword and 6th in fling. In the intermediate category, Ainsley Stewart got 2nd in Seann Truibhas, Avaline Booth got 3rd in Highland Reel, Fiona Gillies got 3rd in Fling and Ashley Elliott got 4th in Fling and Seann Truibhas.

On Aug. 14, in the beginner group Maribelle McBroom got 5th in the Lilt and 6th in Flora and Highland Reel. Brooke Bailey got 5th in the Highland Reel and 6th in Lilt and Flora. In the intermediate group, Ainsley Stewart got 6th in Flora, Avaline Booth got 6th in Flora, Fiona Gillies got 2nd in Barracks, and Ashley Elliott got 5th in Flora and 6th in Lilt.
