Livestream cabaret concert series returns

DRAYTON – The last two concerts in Drayton Entertainment’s free Livestream Cabaret Concert Series have been rescheduled for late July.

The Little Big Band and Kelly Holiff concerts will be streamed on Facebook in real-time live from St. Jacobs Country Playhouse on July 22 and July 29 at 7pm.

The concerts were originally scheduled as part of a six-concert series that ran in March and April.

The first four concerts were presented as scheduled with thousands of online viewers, but the not-for-profit charitable arts organization was forced to cancel the final two concerts in the series when the provincial government imposed a stay-at-home order for all of Ontario in April.

The Livestream Cabaret Concert Series puts the spotlight on artists and gives them the much-needed opportunity to play and perform live. The series is presented in partnership with the Music Performance Trust Fund, which requires the use of Facebook as the streaming platform.

Previous concerts in the series included Michael Vanhevel, The Mantini Sisters, Lee Siegel, and Mark Cassius.

The final two upcoming concerts are:

Little Big Band

A seven-piece “Little” Big Band plays modern jazz hits and updated classics July 22 at 7pm.

The seven-piece band features music director Brigham Phillips on piano, Sasha Boychouk on woodwinds, Howard Gaul on drums, Peter Hysen on trombone, Will

Jarvis on bass, Paul Mitchell on trumpet, and Dave Thompson on guitar.

Kelly Holiff

Vocal powerhouse Kelly Holiff sings songs by Broadway and popular composers who shaped her life in her concert on July 29 at 7pm.

Holiff is accompanied by music director Jeannie Wyse on piano, Erik Patterson on guitar, Pol Coussée on reeds, Jamie Drake on drums and Ross MacIntyre on bass.

The final two concerts will be livestreamed from the Drayton Entertainment Facebook page.

The concerts are not pre-recorded and cannot be viewed at a later date. Audiences must tune into the livestreams in order to watch.

The Livestream Cabaret Concert Series is made possible through the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and sponsors Nestle, Strassburger Windows & Doors, Hay Communications, and Emerge2 Digital.
