It was incredible to read that finally the full embrace of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) will happen somewhere in Canada.
Romeo Saganash must be thrilled to find that his work to have UNDRIP approved in the Senate only to be denied on the wire in June this year might finally come to life. It creates such hope to finally see meaningful redress towards reconciliation and validates the work that we did in our Indigenous Treaties study group. It makes me proud to have chosen Canada as my new home over 40 years ago.
