Towel thrown in

Dear Editor:

It is with great sadness that we must announce the closing of The BK Foundation in Erin.

We fought a good fight and tried staying here for the last three years, but the costs in the fight with our town has caused this closure. As they want to try to use us as an example to change ways in this town, trying to force us to rezone the entire farm into a commercial property.

We threw in the towel when I tried yet again to work with them and they decided that our temporary run in shelter that was donated by Home Depot was not a temporary shelter as it had been here longer than six months. I was told to tear it down or get a building permit for it. Even though you can move it anywhere on the property.

I love this community and our town; this became our home. We will miss everyone dearly, especially all the lives we were able to touch along the way. We are devastated and heart broken.

We know we will be accepted and appreciated elsewhere and we will move on and be stronger than ever. If our town ever changes into a more positive team of members that can see the value we would bring to this community in growth and opportunity, we will come back. We just do not have anything left as this fight has taken my entire life savings to try to keep it going.

As of the end of May we will be relocating to Marble Falls, Texas. All the animals start their journey this week. We would love for you all to keep in touch.

We already have a huge community excited for our arrival and huge organizations waiting to meet with us. God bless you all and know you are always welcome to visit us at the ranch in Texas if you are in the area.

To bigger and better positive vibes!

Jennifer Kindred-Bulbulia,
