God ‘the only solution’

Dear Editor:

RE: Tropes not truth, Oct. 31.

In his column, Patrick Raftis labels Roger Fuhr and Irma DeVries as climate change deniers as per the propaganda playbook of the typical left leaning political citizen. Disadvantaged by the one-minute time limit to answer a question on climate change, candidates can only attempt to position their political party as opposite to the mainstream media’s mass propaganda.

Is the climate debate “settled”?  Not. What is the truth about the climate and whose truth should we believe?

I sympathize with the Greta Thunbergs of this world and their fear of the future. Abject hopelessness may be self-destructive, incapacitating and ruinous. Where are the parents offering hope and stability at every family meal time?  Where are the teachers offering the scientific method whereby all sides of every issue are examined?

It seems the only acceptable opinion is that government must do something to stop climate change! Could this be mass manipulation for greater financial profit for some elitists such as Al Gore, David Suzuki and friends?  Or is this manipulation of the masses to obtain political power, control over the populace or a dictatorship?

There are many scientists that do not agree that climate change requires mass government intervention, more taxation and control of the people.  Raftis’ “legitimate media” comment leaves no doubt as to his superior opinion. Has he examined all sides of the issue?

Award winning, Roger Pielke, Jr., professor of environmental studies at the University of Colorado-Boulder, states in his 2014 book, The Rightful Place of Science: Disasters and Climate Change, “There is precious little evidence that extremes have become worse in the U.S. since at least 1900, with the exception of more winter storms since 1950 and overall fewer cold spells. Attribution (for these trends) is weak to nonexistent. Despite the evidence there is a drumbeat of news stories and various claims that weather disasters are getting worse.”

Scientist Dr. Tim Ball, writing guest columns in the Ontario Landowner magazine, has been harassed and maligned in the media for his expose of the fraud of climate change and recently won his court case.

Dr. Russ Humphreys, PhD, physics, Louisiana State University, explores the myth surrounding C02 in an August 2009 article entitled “God’s Global Warming Worked Just Fine”. He recommends fighting sulphur dioxide and soot rather than C02. And the “Institute for Creation Research” exposes the evolutionist’s lies and offers the best answer to Greta’s fears.

The regressive policies of the past so-called progressive politicians have created the hopelessness seen in youth like Greta. The truth is that Greta is being used by pushy adults to further their own agenda.

Everyone needs to turn to the creator God to be freed from their fears about drought, floods, storms and other disasters. He is the only solution there is.

Irma DeVries,
Harriston
