Crucial equipment

Dear Editor:

RE: Puslinch taxes, Jan. 30.

For the sake of full disclosure, I was a part-time firefighter. When we ask women and men to go into burning structures to save lives and/or property we should absolutely equip them with what is necessary to do the job. Their lives and possibly someone else’s are counting on that.

Firefighting technologies and practices are rapidly changing and because of this, firefighting is becoming safer, but bad things still happen.

Surely Mr. Bossie is not suggesting that to save a couple of bucks on his tax bill Puslinch firefighters should be less safe. We must support our Puslinch firefighters and thank them every chance we get for a dangerous job well done.
