Ashamed of Trudeau

Dear Editor:

An open letter to Members of the Standing Committee on Ethics, et al.

I am ashamed of the way in which the prime minister of this country has behaved over the SNC-Lavalin affair and I believe the people of Canada need to know the full truth.

We need to know that if there is any more rot to be found and cut out, it is constrained to the prime minister and the prime minister’s office (PMO), and has not infected the whole of the Liberal Party, and hence the Government of Canada.

Mario Dion in his report identified that access to some information was denied him by the PMO. The public should know why this was the case, otherwise we will have to guess and the words “more rot” spring to mind.

Please do the right thing by the people who placed you in trusted positions to act in our best interest.  Please vote to carry out further investigation into the SNC-Lavalin affair at your meeting on Aug. 21.

If we are not a country that follows rule of law at all levels of our society then what are we? Is the Chinese government right about us and that we only apply it when it is politically appropriate?

If so we Canadians need to know this about the society in which we live, then we can act accordingly.

Michael Lee,
