POEM: THE BELLS OF PEACE
(1918-2018)

One hundred times the bells peal loud.
They peal for peace to the gathered crowd.
Lest we forget, one century ago,
The Great War ended and now we show

Our gratitude to those who fell.
We remember them with a ringing bell–
Not just once, but one hundred times;
We ponder their sacrifice as it chimes.

Thank you, brave soldiers, one and all,
For answering your country’s call.
Let the bells of peace ring out for thee,
One hundred times, in memory..
