Dear Editor:
RE: Letters to the Editor ‘disturbed’, ‘dismayed’, and ‘menaced’ by the Notwithstanding Cudgel- Sept 20

There are three arguments to be considered here:

One: Where was the general public outcry when the Liberals forced the placement of hundreds of industrial Wynnmills in rural Ontario against the vehement objections by the affected municipalities?

Two: Why did Trudeau refuse to criticize Ford for using the clause? Could it be because his father- Pierre Elliot, was instrumental to the inclusion of the notwithstanding clause in the Charter? Awkward!

Three: As for the Premier respecting the court’s interpretation of the constitution, Judge Belobaba showed his interpretation with his use of the taxpayer funded Ten Point Five Million Dollar Khadr Principle !!!

In the end, it turns out, Premier Ford had the correct interpretation.
