Dear Editor:

I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced ongoing issues with Canada Post in our town when it comes to packages being delivered to their residence.

For the past year when ordering packages online, which happens frequently, we pay for delivery and expect our packages to be delivered. Without fail, when our packages are tracked it states an attempt to deliver was made and a notice card has been left. Although upon checking, no card is left and no attempt was made, but a card appears the following day with the previous date written on it.

After contacting Canada Post, we’ve been informed several times that the third party company that they contract out to was suppose to deliver this package, but failed to. This seems suspicious and vaguely fraudulent as we’ve paid for delivery every time, and even though someone is available in my home everyday to receive said package, Canada post (or this third party) fails to deliver. Which leaves us having to go out of our way to retrieve the package at the local post office at the Shoppers Drug Mart in town. Why am I paying Canada post to deliver my package when they are not even trying to deliver it at all?

This may not seem like a huge issue to some, but when this is ongoing for many months it becomes frustrating and a huge inconvenience. I would love to hear if I am alone in this, or is there anyone who is just as frustrated?
