Dear Editor;

My family was lucky enough to be visiting Elora for Canada Day. We were so impressed by how much was happening in the village!

We all happened to be in the park when the community raised a brand new flag to mark Canada’s 150th birthday. The uncomplicated ceremony of a short speech followed by a spontaneous singing of our National Anthem while the flag was raised (and flapped in the breeze!) was moving and made us all reflect on how lucky we are to be Canadian! What a wonderful thing to do!

There was so much to do and see and everything was so well attended (yet remained accessible) and the people were all so kind.

You are all so blessed to live in such a great community! My family thanks your community for making our Canada Day/Canada’s 150th Birthday extra special for us.

Sincerely,
Beverly Rockliffe,
Oakville, Ontario.
