RE: Flame blame & Business as usual- May 20/16
The Fort MacMurray fire was an unprecedented tragedy. The outpouring of support for nearly 90,000 victims is phenomenal. Individuals, groups and other countries stepped up to help with cash, food, shelter and volunteered their time and effort.
By contrast, while Fort Mac burned, Racheal Notly fiddled- in an Edmonton bar. Trudeau declined other countries’ offers of resources, equipment and personnel, thus allowing the monster to gain in strength and ferocity, the destruction continuing unabated. The vicious contempt for the victims by anti-oilers is beyond disgusting, some even suggesting that Fort Mac not be rebuilt. This is their fondest dream come true! Even now, Fort Mac contractors are being told that they are not eligible to participate in the rebuilding. So, who is? The Notley/Trudeau cabal would probably say “nobody”.
Ironically, it was the very resource that activists hate that saved the day. The tankers full of fossil fuels leading and following the hundreds of convoys likely saved 90,000 men, women, children, grandchildren and beloved pets. The outcome would have been tragically different had those people been forced to drive electric buggies to flee the inferno.
