Lacrosse fans urged to respect ‘Silent Week’

ELORA – Silent Week is being held by amateur lacrosse teams in an attempt to promote respect for referees, players and coaches.

Fans throughout Zone 8, which extends from Owen Sound to Brantford and includes the Centre Wellington Mohawks organization, are being asked not to make any verbal comments during games this week.

Director Steve Kelly said most fans are positive, but there has been an increase of negative behaviour. “We want our sport to grow, we want referees to develop and we want our players to enjoy the game they love,” he said.
