Kindergarten registration begins at Wellington Catholic

GUELPH – The Wellington Catholic District School Board is inviting families to register their children for kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year.

Kindergarten registration is set to run from Jan. 4 to Jan. 29 and can be done online or by contacting your local Catholic elementary school.

Early registration will allow for optimal planning for kindergarten programs for the upcoming school year, states a press release.

“At Wellington Catholic, we are proud to provide a high quality, faith-based education where your child will grow, learn and discover,” said Tyrone Dowling, Superintendent of Education. “We look forward to welcoming families at one of our 18 elementary schools.”

To attend Junior kindergarten in September 2021, students must be four-years-old on or before December 31. Students in senior kindergarten must be five-years-old on or before December 31.

The board offers a unique kindergarten program at Sacred Heart school in Guelph – the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme.

The Sacred Heart IB PYP provides education that promotes critical thinking skills and allows elementary students to begin their French studies in kindergarten.

Limited space is available for this program and registrations must be completed by Jan. 29 to be considered.
