ELORA - Centre Wellington is directing just over $54,500 towards main street revitalization in Fergus. Economic development officer Patricia Rutter excplained the Main Street Revitalization Initiative is a $26 million fund to assist municipalities with activities that support and benefit small businesses.

$67,300 proposed for economic development strategic action plan

ELORA - Centre Wellington council is accepting a $67,300 proposal by McSweeney & Associates Consulting Inc to undertake an economic development strategic action plan. Such a plan would provide direction to determine what, where, when and how economic development is to be planned, delivered and sustained in the township.

FERGUS - International tourism expert Roger Brooks presented his ‘20 ingredients for an outstanding downtown” at the Fergus Grand Theatre on July 31. Centre Wellington Township organized the presentation and assessment, in partnership with the Fergus Business Improvement Area (BIA), as part of the county’s business retention and expansion action plan.
