Impaired driving

GUELPH-ERAMOSA – On Feb. 5 at about 1:30pm, Wellington County OPP responded to a traffic complaint involving a black pickup truck in the area of Highway 7 in Rockwood. Police say officers located the pick-up truck at an address on First Line near Eden Mills, spoke to the female driver and requested a roadside screening device test but the woman refused.

Suzy Da Estrela Cordeiro, 51, of Milton, was charged with failure or refusal to provide a breath sample. She is to appear in Guelph court on Feb. 23.

ABOYNE – On Feb. 9 at about 12:30am, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a white passenger vehicle that was stuck in a ditch on Wellington Road 18 here.

Police say officers spoke to the male driver and transported him to the nearby OPP station for testing.

Brenton James Cossar, 29, of Kitchener, was charged with driving while impaired by drug and possession of a Schedule 1 substance. He is to appear in Guelph court on Feb. 23.

In the above incidents the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
