Impaired driving

PUSLINCH – On May 10 at about 9:45pm, Wellington County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Gore Road. Police say officers spoke to the male driver, who refused to provide a breath sample.

Stanley M. Walton, 41, of Cambridge, was charged with failing to comply with a demand for a breath sample and possession of cocaine. He is to appear in Guelph court on June 14.

ELORA – On May 11 at about 2:30am, Wellington County OPP officers received a report of a vehicle that left the road and struck a stop sign on Daniel Crescent here.

No one was injured in the crash. Police say officers spoke to the female driver and transported her to a local OPP station for testing.

Taylor Ann Pronk, 24, of Fergus, was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in her system. She is to appear in Guelph court on June 14.

GUELPH – On May 11 at about 2:45am, Wellington County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on the Hanlon Parkway. Police say officers spoke to the driver of a sedan and conducted a roadside screening device test.

Leah Fleming, 24, of Oakville, was charged with driving over 80mg. She is to appear in Guelph court on June 11.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA – On May 11 at about 7:15am, Wellington County OPP officers received a report about a vehicle striking a mailbox and then leaving the scene on Wellington Road 51 near Wellington Road 7.

Police say officers spoke to the male driver and transported him to a local OPP station for testing.

Cole Edwin Gray, 30, of Fergus, was charged with driving while impaired by drug, failing to comply with a probation order, failing to remain at the scene of a collision and failing to have a plate validation.

He is to appear in Guelph court on June 11.

PUSLINCH – On May 11 at about 3:30pm, Wellington County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Concession 7.

Police say officers spoke to the male driver of a vehicle and conducted a roadside screening device test.

Jeffery Piche, 47, of Puslinch, was charged with driving over 80mg, driving while suspended and driving with an open container of liquor. He is to appear in Guelph court on June 14.

MOUNT FOREST – On May 16 at about 12:30am, a Wellington County OPP officer responding to a call for service near the intersection of Queen and John Streets was cut off by another vehicle and had to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

The officer followed the vehicle to an address on John Street, spoke to the male driver and conducted a roadside screening device test.

Nicholas James Wells, 19, of Mount Forest, was charged with impaired driving. He is to appear in Guelph court on June 21.

NORTH PERTH – On May 17 at about 3pm, Perth County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Line 72 in the hamlet of Donegal.

Police say officers spoke to the male driver of a Ford pickup and conducted a roadside screening device test.

David Gray, 49, of Mapleton, was charged with driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on June 3.

MOUNT FOREST – On May 18 at about 2pm, a Wellington County OPP officer allegedly observed a vehicle driving erratically on Main Street here.

Police say the officer spoke to the male driver and transported him to a local OPP station for testing.

Steven Joseph Brouwers, 45, of Mount Forest, was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mg and driving while disqualified.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On May 19 at about 9pm, Wellington County OPP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Wellington Road 18 near 2nd Line, east of Fergus. Police say officers spoke to the male driver and conducted a roadside screening device test.

Glen Allen Carrow, 61, of Fergus, was charged with driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on June 18.

In the above incidents the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
