Harriston Rising holding ‘Holiday Hanger’ contest

HARRISTON – Harriston Rising is inviting children of all ages to help decorate the downtown.

The downtown promotional organization is holding a “Holiday Hanger” contest.

Youngsters are encouraged to make and decorate holiday ornaments out of recycled items and drop them off in an envelope through the mail slot at 10 Elora Street S. in Harriston.

The deadline has been extended to Dec. 16.

Items must be no bigger than 10cm by 15cm and flat enough to go through a mail slot.

Items must also be “ready to hang.”

Each entry must be have the child’s name, age, address and parent’s name and contact email address attached to the ornament.

Names will be entered into a draw for prizes and all hangers will be displayed downtown during the holiday season.

If items are to be returned, indicate on the envelope and arrangements will be made via email for pickup.
