Guelph teen on a roll

A few weeks ago, Guelph’s Doug McNair, 18, became the youngest driver in the history of harness racing to reach $1-million in earnings.

On Dec. 15, he surpassed another milestone, marking the 100th win of his rookie season. The victory came at Western Fair Raceway in London.

McNair scored 29 of those wins at Grand River Raceway .

On Aug. 4, he won the track’s signature race, the $300,000 Battle of Waterloo.

He drove his father’s horse, Trail Boss, to a half-length win, and a $150,000 first prize.
