Guelph man charged in 2016 and 2020 sexual assaults

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Police have charged a Guelph man with three counts of sexual assault involving two victims and separate incidents from 2016 and this year.

On Sept. 19 at a bout 9am, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report of a historical sexual assault at an address in Wellington County in March 2016.

George Patrick McPolin, 38, of Guelph, was charged with sexual assault and is to appear in Guelph court at a future date.

McPolin also faces a two additional counts of sexual assault involving a separate victim, stemming from an incident reported to police in July of this year.

“Victims of sexual assault are not alone,” police stated in a press release.

The information will remain anonymous and confidential, police add, noting anyone in an immediate crisis can dial 9-1-1.
