Guelph-Eramosa firefighters host open house in Rockwood

Fun and safety – The Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department opened the doors of the Rockwood fire hall to the public on May 4, with a variety of safety displays and demonstrations. Clockwise from top left: firefighters help kids use fire hoses to blast beach balls out of a portable water reservoir; one-year-old Marty Dysselhof and his dad Colin check out the driver’s seat of a fire truck; firefighters demonstrate their Jaws of Life equipment, slicing open a mini-van to peel off the roof; and Auxiliary Staff Sergeant Brad Hull operates the OPP vehicle rollover display, with unrestrained teddy bears ejected during a simulated accident. There were a variety of exhibits promoting emergency preparedness and the maintenance of working smoke alarms.  Photos by Phil Gravelle
