Gordon Lightfoot tribute coming to Fergus

FERGUS – Gordon Lightfoot’s music has been popular for decades, so it’s no wonder a tribute band would spring up.

But since his death on May 1, Classic Lightfoot Live has been in high demand.

And they are coming to the Fergus Grand Theatre on June 17, the first date in a tour of southern Ontario that includes shows in Stratford, Parry Sound, Barrie, London, Orangeville and Meaford.

Classic Lightfoot Live was founded in 2012 by lead vocalist John Stinson, a long time Ontario musician.

Stinson has been widely praised for his uncanny sonic resemblance to Lightfoot and his attention to replicating Lightfoot’s original studio recordings.

Playing six and 12-string guitars, Stinson is backed by the Classic Lightfoot Live band, comprising a stellar cast of seasoned musicians that deliver an infectiously enthusiastic and historically inspired show.

Patrons experience all the sentimental and emotional music magic of Lightfoot’s songs.
