Food-A-Palooza in Drayton on May 15 will benefit Rotary

DRAYTON – Hometown Hot Dogs & Sausages is hosting a Food-A-Palooza here on May 15.

The season-opening event for the local business is being held in collaboration with the Township of Mapleton and the Drayton Rotary Club.

The event will be held in the Drayton municipal parking area adjacent to the Drayton fire station.

Food-A-Palooza will run from 11 am to 7:30 pm and feature several food trucks in addition to Hometown Hot Dogs.

“We are really looking forward to this event, it’s a great way to start off the season and do something for Drayton. We will have By Request DJs to provide music as well as the lower parking area will feature local artisans and crafters,” said Christian Giffin, of Hometown Hot Dogs.

Giffin said the township provides the space and will be sourcing seating and barriers. The township has foregone permit fees for the food trucks as they are donating 10 per cent their profits to the Rotary Club.

Booth fees from the craft vendors will go directly to Rotary which is working on a new park in Drayton. Giffin said the DJ is working for free  and Sorry Sauce will be donating all proceeds from the sale of one of their sauces to Rotary.
