Fergus BIA has new board of directors

Following the recent Fergus BIA annual general meeting, a new board of directors was elected.

They are Janette Gajic (Royal LePage RCR Realty), chair; Mary Cole (Lil Flea Market), treasurer; Cheryl Marsland (I Love Chocolate), secretary; AJ Broderick (Broderick’s), Brent Hallman (Tivoli Films), Gord Blyth (CoverUps), and Eric Goudie (Fergus Grand Theatre).

In her farewell letter, past president Jackie Fraser of Fraberts Fresh Food stated “Four years ago I threw my hat in the ring and was honoured to become chair of the Fergus BIA.”

“What a great four years it has been.  I have had the privilege of working with a terrific team of energetic and committed downtown enthusiasts.”

She added “As a passionate group of volunteers, we accomplished many things. The “Lighting of the Grand”, initiating the Riverwalk beautification project as part of the Fergus library expansion, a new website and enhanced social media presence, three new sets of seasonal banners, Christmas lighting, St David Street bridge flower baskets, and other beautification projects will remain as part of our legacy.  The Easter Saturday Hippity Hop and Christmas Tree Lighting are now annual family traditions in downtown Fergus.”
