Erin Town Hall and facilities to reopen Sept. 7

ERIN – As the province continues to transition into step three of its reopening plan, the Town of Erin is reopening its facilities, including Town Hall to the public starting Sept. 7.

“It’s no doubt been a challenging time for all of us as we navigate through this pandemic,” Mayor Allan Alls stated in news release from the town. “I thank you all for your patience and resilience, adhering to all the health and safety requirements of our medical officers.

“We will maintain all safety options as we open our facilities to the public. I would, however, encourage residents to use our online or phone options as much as possible to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy.”

To ensure the safety and well-being of residents, a number of safety precautions will be in place. Masks will continue to be required, sanitizing stations will be available and anybody looking for in-person service will be required to fill out a COVID-19 questionnaire before entering our facility.

To make the process convenient and safe, a questionnaire can be filled in at home online or by scanning the QR code available at the entrance of the town’s facilities.

The QR code will lead directly to the questionnaire and as soon as it is filled in and submitted, an email confirmation will be sent. The email confirmation must be shown to staff before accessing any service.

Council meetings, however, will continue to be live streamed, and recordings will be posted online. Meetings will not be open to the public at this time due to space constraints and safety restrictions.

The town is encouraging residents to continue using online and phone options as much as possible to access services and to limit the number of people within town facilities, as per provincial requirements.

For online services visit www.erin.ca or email customerservice@erin.ca or call 519.855.4407 for any inquiry. There is also a secure 24/7 drop-box, located at Town Hall.
