Erin sets interim levy

Council has approved an interim tax levy so the town has operating income until the 2015 budget has been set.

This tax levy will be paid in two installments, one in March and one in May, totalling 50 per cent of the resident’s taxes from last year.

Budget meetings

Council approved regular meetings of council to discuss the 2015 budget. These meetings will occur on March 11 at 10am and March 24 at 10am.

New purchases

At the meeting council approved the purchase of a Kubota off-road all-terrain vehicle for $16,596. The vehicle will be used for fire fighting and rescue purposes.

Angelstone Farms zoning application complete

Angelstone Farms applied for an amendment to permanently permit seasonal horse show events. This is the second application after council asked for additional information.

The applicants want to allow the farm to hold “special equestrian events, including sales of related merchandise and food and holding LLBO licensed events and camping for participants.”

There will be a public information with regard to this rezoning on March 17 at 7pm.
