Erin expands community awards

ERIN – The town is expanding its community recognition awards to include businesses and farms that have had a positive local impact.

Nominations are now being accepted for four categories of awards, with a special ceremony planned for April 24 to honour recipients.

There will be a community volunteer award presented to five individuals who have contributed to the betterment of the community.

The citizen of the year award will recognize one individual who has positively influenced the community through volunteerism.

An agriculture/agri-business award will go to an individual, group, organization or business with an innovative approach or that has overcome significant challenges. The business of the year award will honour a business that has a positive impact on the community.

Nominations can be dropped off at town hall, or emailed to communications@erin.ca, until Feb. 28.
