Duos and duets focus of MooreBand Harriston concert on Valentine’s Day

HARRISTON – The third instalment in a concert series featuring popular local musical act MooreBand will include a Valentine’s Day theme.

“Valentine’s Day is about celebrating the loves in our lives – for us that includes music,” the band’s promotional material states.

The concert, set for Feb. 14 at the Harriston Town Hall Theatre at 7:30pm, will focus on duos and duets.

MooreBand features Drayton residents Derek and Maggie Moore and their children Bria, Drew and Taylor.

Concerts in the five-show series showcase the band’s diverse musical styles in a variety of area venues.

The opening concert on Nov. 2 in Harriston featured country music classics, while a Jan. 18 performance at the Norgan Theatre focussed on folk music legends.

The Feb. 14 concert will include a guest performance from Cowboy Up Unplugged, featuring Mount Forest area husband and wife duo  Holly Morell and Larry Lesperance.

Harriston musician Bernie Hale, a Norwell District Secondary School student, will also perform in the show.

Tickets, $20 for adults, $10 for children or $50 per family, are available at the door or moorebandconcerts@eventbrite.ca.

Future concerts in the series will be held:

– March 17 at the Palmerston Legion focusing on Irish music; and

– April 5 at the Grand Theatre in Fergus with a British Invasion theme.
