Drayton splash pad reopening June 19

MAPLETON – The splash pad at ABC Park in Drayton will reopen on Friday (June 19).

Mapleton Township officials made the announcement on June 18 as part of its response to the province’s gradual reopening of businesses and amenities that closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are pleased to announce that starting tomorrow … the Drayton Splash Pad will open under the regular hours of 9am to 9pm,” stated the township press release.

Mapleton ball diamonds, skateparks, walking trails, park open spaces, and tennis courts were opened last month.

“Please ensure you are following all the medical officer of health’s guidelines with respect to COVID-19 when using the any of these facilities, including practicing social distancing and limiting the number of users to 10 as per current guidelines,” states the reease.

Mapleton facilities that remain closed include playgrounds, the administration office and buildings such as the PMD Arena, Moorefield Community Centre, Alma Community Centre, and the Moorefield Optimist Hall.

“We continue to praise the community of Mapleton on their cooperation and patience during such unprecedented times,” officials state.
