Culvert replacement near Rockwood will see Wellington Rd. 27 closed this summer

Replacement of a culvert on Wellington Road 27 will shut down a section of the road between Brucedale and Rockwood for much of the summer.

On June 15, Wellington County’s roads division construction manager Mark Eby emailed the Wellington Advertiser stating the county has hired a contractor to complete the replacement of a culvert/bridge on Wellington Road 27, between Wellington Road 124 and Guelph-Eramosa Sideroad 10.

The work and road closure will begin on June 22 and it is anticipated work will be completed before school starts. Two detours will be posted for the closure.

Cars and small trucks (buses and emergency vehicles) will be able to use Eramosa 4th Line. Transport trucks and other oversized vehicles will have to use Highway 7 to Wellington Road 29 to Wellington Road 124 to get around the site.

Signs have been posted indicating the road will be closed and to follow the appropriate detour or choose an alternate route.
