County museum, libraries reopening soon

WELLINGTON COUNTY – County officials announced on Feb. 16 that local libraries and the Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) are reopening soon.

The reopenings are a response to the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) region’s return this week to the red (control) level of the province’s COVID-19 alert system.

All library branches will continue with curbside service “for the next few weeks,” officials say, with the aim of fully reopening in mid-March.

Computer bookings and printing will be available by appointment at libraries starting Feb. 22.

Online resources are also available at wellington.ca/library.

The museum and archives will re-open on Feb. 22. Patrons are asked to call 519-846-0916 to make an appointment to use the archives or to drop off donations.

Officials say the facility has two new exhibits opening on Feb. 27 and they encourage residents to also enjoy the WCMA skating rink, trails and tobogganing hill.

All patrons must complete an active screening upon entry and adhere to all public health measures while inside county facilities.
