Clifford set to host annual truck show June 30 and July 1

Kenworth will be the featured truck at the Clifford Antique and Classic Truck Show hosted by the Great Lakes Truck Club on June 30 and July 1 at the Rotary Pavilion Park in Clifford.

Organizers Verdun Zurbrigg and Rob Johnston say the show in Clifford is becoming the largest yearly gathering place for antique and classic trucks. Drivers bring their rigs from all over the province, Canada, and beyond. Over 250 big rigs rolled past the gates in 2016 and over 300 are expected for this year’s show.

The trucks in the Kenworth Corral are expected to command the most attention, but it is tough to deny the attraction of the retro cabovers. In various colours and hues, they line up row upon row and have their own appeal.

Each year a number of brand new trucks are allowed on the field. Vendors are limited.

The Clifford Rotary Club will provide breakfast, lunch, and supper and a barbecue pork chop dinner on Saturday night. Friday,  Knox Church hosts a fish fry at the community hall.

Clifford Homecoming volunteers will also be selling their chocolate bars, tops and hats.

At 2pm on July 1, the committee will be hosting a Canada Day event at the site of the old grist mill at the south end of Elora Street.
