Clifford man, Guelph woman charged after stabbing

GUELPH-ERAMOSA – Two people have been charged with assault following a stabbing here on Wednesday.

Wellington County OPP officers responded to the incident at a residence on Highway 6 north of Guelph on Dec. 16 at about 9:50am.

Police say a physical altercation took place between three individuals, during which “one party was injured as a result of an edged weapon.

“The victim drove themselves to a local hospital where they were treated for serious non-life-threatening injuries.”

Police say officers arrested two suspects near the scene.

“It was determined that the victim and the suspects were known to each other and there is no threat to public safety,” police stated in a press release.

Rudolfo Reda, 62, of Clifford, was charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with a release order.

Beverly Tomlinson, 59, of Guelph, was charged with assault.

Both accused are to appear in Guelph court on Jan. 22.
