Celebrate random acts of kindness

Random Act of Kindness Day was started in 2008 by the Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation to bring communities together by engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity.

This year, Random Act of Kindness Day is set for Nov. 7 and East Wellington Community Services is encouraging everyone to get involved by doing something kind for someone else and appreciating fellow citizens.

This day is an opportunity to do something kind for someone else and for community building – it’s not about fundraising or giving money; just a day to celebrate kindness.

The opportunities to do something nice for someone else happen every day but this is a special day to really celebrate all the small things that make living in this communities so wonderful, organizers state. Research has shown that kindness is contagious – it empowers and involves everyone in the community and helps to build even stronger ties to the community.
